Vintage pheasant feather hat designer unknown。This is a showstopper hat from famous milliner Mr. John that dates to the 1950s. The hat consists of an oval shaped cap slightly indented around the top. The surface of the top area is covered with small pheasant feathers in colors of brown, ivory and purple. The same feathers are attached to a large \"bow\" at one side of the front. From this \"bow\", magnificent fuchsia and purple tall, curly ostrich feathers project upwards and back. An elastic band is attached to the inside to help keep the hat in place under the hair. His work adorned the cover of Vogue in 1943, 1944, 1946 and 1953 and his hats were regularly worn by Hollywood stars and other powerful women. The milliner designed for celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, Lauren Bacall, Gloria Vanderbilt & Jackie Onassis.
